Pastor James Lyons was born in 1955 in Augusta, GA, grew up in the Atlanta area, graduated from Hyles-Anderson College in Crown Point, IN (B.S. 1978, M.Ed. 1980), and taught Christian high school and Bible college classes for 25 years at Grace Baptist Church in Columbus, GA, where he and his wife Ruth raised four wonderful children. Pastor Lyons has preached in jails, rescue missions, school chapels and nursing homes. In June, 2009, Camp Creek Baptist Church became the only church he has ever pastored.
Dr. Barrs joined the pastoral staff in October 2001. Dr. Barrs works with the senior pastor and special music of the church. He and his wife, Janet, came from Pennsylvania., where he founded and pastored a Baptist Church and Christian School for 29 years. The Barrs have three grown children, and three grandchildren. The Barrs have been married since July 17, 1959.
Pastor Jesus Quiles was born in Ensenada, Baja California, Mexico. He graduated from El Instituto Bautista Fundamental De Ensenada in 2006 and was called to preach. He moved to Georgia in 2008. Pastor Jesus Quiles preached and taught in La Iglesia Bautista Fundamental Independiente Berea and worked on bus routes. He has been at Camp Creek Baptist Church since August 2011. Ruth Lyons was born in Red Wing, MN, and grew up in a godly home on a Wisconsin dairy farm. She graduated from Covenant Bible College in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan in 1972, and from Arthur B. Anchor Memorial School of Nursing in St. Paul, MN in 1975. She attended Hyles-Anderson College in 1977 where she met her husband James, and they were married the following summer. Together they spent 25 years in Columbus, GA where she homeschooled their four children. In 2009, she became the church secretary at Camp Creek.
